* Crowded Tropics… We are currently tracking three named tropical systems over the Atlantic Ocean. I’ll take them in order…
HANNA - currently a tropical storm, Hanna will likely strengthen into a Category 1 hurricane before making landfall along the SC/NC coast. Places like Charleston and Wilmington will be under the gun from Hanna.
IKE - With all due respect to our former President, I don’t like Ike. Ike will continue pushing westward through the Atlantic, in the general direction of Cuba/south Florida. Of the three storms, this one has the best chance to get into the Gulf. Here’s the NHC forecast on Ike:
JOSEPHINE: Josephine is still a long, long way from the U.S. It’s track is west/northwest, and this one could curve out to sea…Too early to really get a good feel for Josephine.
* Around Here… Weather looks great through the weekend. Temps each day will top out in the 88-92 range, we’ll see more sun than clouds, and rain chances will remain very small. Saturday and Sunday will likely see slightly better rain chances than Thu/Fri, but still, we are only talking about a 1 in 4 shot of a quick afternoon shower - not a washout.
